Vomit The Plague

What we have here is a brand new band hailing from Kassel, Germany. I will say off the bat they score points for presentation and really cool cover art. Upon viewing the cover it implies that this is going to be a brutal slam Death Metal, while it does have its brief moments it quickly comes across more like early CANNIBAL CORPSE and SUFFOCATION. So while taking the time to listen to this quick introduction to the band, I appreciate the inclusion of different vocal styles (à la Chris Barnes) and sounds in the songwriting. The members take those influences and bring their own take on the genre. There are plenty of cool moments here and there, be it with the riffs or the sound or just the general presentation of the songs, that draw you you in and make it a good listen for the 20 minutes invested. So this is a great start-off for the band in terms of its sound and overall first steps. Avid readers of my reviews (all 2 of you!) know that sometimes interludes and or soundbites can be a bit aggravating, there is a brief moment here but nothing deal-breaking. This release has a good production and gives you the sense that it was recorded in the ’90s. It is definitely going to be nothing you haven’t heard before, but it’s a fun slightly varied-sounding release and a good start for a demo. Let’s see how they progress further down the line. www.facebook.com/reanimateddomination, https://reanimatedofficial.bandcamp.com
