I’m not really sure if the title of this CD is "Relic Of Disobedience" or just self-titled – I go for the 2nd one as nothing else is printed on the sleeve nor a song is called like this (from what I can figure out of these Chinese characters), though I found other information in the internet. Anyway, RENCHEI, or RenChei, is a Chinese technical Death / Grind combo presenting us 6 songs on this CD including a cover of ‘Atonement’ from DISGORGE. I don’t know the original version as I don’t know anything from DISGORGE and American styled Death / Grind isn’t my favorite type of music, to be objective I have to say that what RENCHEI are doing, they are doing it good. The vocals are guttural and as deep as possible as it is used for this type of music and the overall musical skills of the band members is pretty tough, the sound simply amazing and the layout looks Chinese. I mean the painting and most of the writings in the booklet, including the songtitles are completely in Chinese characters which means I can’t read one fuckin’ word. Almost, haha.
