So, if you like unrelenting full-throttle War Metal with a heavy dose of a Death Metal sound, boy do I have a release for you. A fairly new band hailing from Portugal, we have REPUGNATOR. Just looking at the cover art, that logo and the overall color scheme it just oozes the atmosphere you are about to experience. If bands like SARCOFAGO, ABHORER and IMPIETY are in your general mindset you have to take a look into this band. I will add that I hear a sound very reminiscent of SARINVOMIT and PERSECUTORY and some of the current Turkish hordes. So with that in mind and the general pummeling you can expect from a release such as this, the runtime is perfect. Because any longer it could become one big blur. There is not too much variation from song to song. I found that production to be a main draw for me, it’s not typical for this style of music. It is more well-rounded and warm-sounding. Listen to the moments when the bass guitar kicks in. Very deep and you feel it in your gut. The sound style is similar to PUTRED’s latest album.
