RIEXHUMATION is an Italian Death Metal band who play 90s style Death Metal with modern touches. “The Final Revelation Of Abaddon” is their first full length out on Lavadome Productions. RIEXHUMATION is quick to make an impression, ferocious vocals, buzzing riffs and an IMMOLATION’ish approach to drumming that grounds the overall sound of the band beautifully. Mini solos are thrown in between intense passages of utterly heavy and uncompromising rhythm sections throughout the album. The closest comparison would be my favourite IMMOLATION record “Failures For Gods”, however RIEXHUMATION offer much more, the band’s sound is much more wide. The heaviness of the rhythm section fills the entire room. It must be a delight to experience this band live! Fans of early VITAL REMAINS and early IMMOLATION in particular should check this album out right away. I’m sure they will gobble up the eerie atmosphere and the insanity in an instant. This feels like a 2021 take on the classic sound and it is very satisfying. The vocals on the entire album are an imprint of the standard classic imagery of the genre. They’re deep, swamp soaked and muddy. The riffs aren’t necessarily brand new but RIEXHUMATION couples it with riotous solos and effects that simply elevate the overall delivery of the songs. The tracks, ‘Ascension XIV’ and ‘The Vektorcvlt’ delicately add in the said effects in the background which evolve into an entire layer enriching the overall sound. These are the little quirks that differentiate RIEXHUMATION, they clearly look beyond the established blueprint, add in these bits and pieces of external elements and make the sound their own. The band rarely gives you a moment of respite to divert or to recuperate. At the times where they offer a moment of it, they pick up the tempo right away and attack you from all corners.
