The True Soldiers Never Die

I could imagine myself sitting at the beach in Recife enjoying a cold beer right now, instead of sitting in grey Scandinavia, where summer almost never drops by, not for real at least. A few beers in the sun it usually provides, though not as many as the summer in Recife I reckon. Why all this talk about Recife, somewhere on the coast in Brazil? Well, the good guys that once made shenanigans as R.I.P. SOLDIER hails from said city, and has made my week a party. The band released this album themselves back in 2010, a release that now has seen a digital re-release (is that even a thing?) and a limited to 100 copies digipak CD release. And with such a limited release, I’m not sure I’m getting the point of GS Productions strategy here, though I am on the other hand quite happy about them making me aware of R.I.P. SOLDIER, as they kick some serious butt. The Brazilian band is offering some good old thrashing Speed Metal, take your favorite Bay Area Thrash Metal band, mix it up with ANTHRAX, S.O.D., D.R.I. and "Beneath The Remains" era SEPULTURA and you have "The True Soldiers Never Die". What old school Metalhead doesn’t headbang to such? I do! Energetic, intense and straight in your face! There isn’t a grain originality on this album, but damn the guys have recorded a well made trip back in time, on their own manners. They’ve written some super catchy tunes, that grip you by the balls from the first hooking riff and keep you headbanging all the way through. Well written and played, a nice trip down memory lane! I’ve more or less told you what you’ll get by blasting this release, now go get it!!! www.gsp-music.com, http://gsproduction.bandcamp.com
