RIPPER
Raising The Corpse / Fatal Memories
(Iron Pegasus Records)

A bunch of talented guys releasing an album at the age of around 20: ”Raising The Corpse”. And just a year earlier they came up with “Fatal Memories”. Iron Pegasus now decided to release them together. And what you witness, seems like a North Korean talent show. Weird, but probably the perfect venue to enjoy the beauty of success throughout pain. An never-ending demonstration on how to chase a dream. Including the promising enlightenment of blood, sweat and tears. These young Chilean guys I believe, shed a good amount of all that. Me personally, I don’t care cause I decided not to reach a presentable stage of talent on my instrument. But I warm everyone who does. RIPPER, will rip your dreams (in review world we are instructed to take a chance on play-on-words humor). In any way you shouldn’t stop playing your bass just because Pablo Cortes knows better. Same with Nicolas Villanueva and Patricio Spalinger aka “Venus Torment”. Who named himself after a song of ABERRATION, which they cover on “Raising The Corpse”. One of my favorites of that record. Personally I like the 2013 released “Fatal Memories” EP a bit more, because it seems here they focused specially on the amount of causalities. Leaving no man standing on an alley of Thrash Death. And on “Raising The Corpse” they simply try to tell you personally… you, your band, your skills and everything around, suck! But both statements are high quality entertaining. Technically it is nothing left to add to my previous words. This band is simply a brilliant co-operation of skills and sound. Rough, brutal and straight ass-kicking Metal. Played by an enormous talented gang of Thrash Death heads. The sound is incredibly focused on the style. And the songwriting is an example for uncompromising target orientation. If you enjoy to get your self torn apart and seamed up again just to get ripped into pieces once more. Get this Iron Pegasus packet of “Fatal Memories” and “Raising The Corpse”, thank them, write your testament and listen to it. Don’t say you didn’t know!
