Paranormal Waves / Ultraviolent Fragments Of Self

I guess RIPPER doesn’t need any introduction, this Chilean band has already released 2 full-lengths and numerous smaller releases which sent shockwaves among die hard Thrash Metal afficionados. “Paranormal Waves” is their latest offering containing 4 new tracks. Luckily they don’t need to “progress” or change shit, so rest assured, this is still a raw sounding prime slab of Death / Thrash with insane bass playing, tons of skin blistering riffs and fast paced drumming. If you dig old SADUS and “Malleus Maleficarum” era of PESTILENCE then imagine that RIPPER pretty much blows them away! This pure thrashing madness keeps your head spinning and all is wrapped up in old school production, no polished, soulless crap here. VENUS TORMENT is a one man project of Patricio Spalinger from RIPPER (and many other bands) where he has recorded all the music and vocals. Honestly, I’m not that keen on his drumming, but I guess it fits for this style of proto Thrash / Black Metal along the lines of old SODOM and SEPULTURA. There are 3 tracks from Demo 2018 with intro and the bonus track ‘U.F.O.S.’ slapped at the end. The production is raw as hell, as supposed to be and he just goes straight for the throat adding some scorching solos. If you like 80s primitive Thrash / Black done well, go get this and without any doubt, the RIPPER side alone is worth the price! The Chilean scene rules supreme!!
