I don’t seem to be getting in the mood for this CD. I tried, though. Straight forward classic Metal you’d expect to be coming from Britain in the 80s with sort of extreme vocals. One thing is certain: these guys from Finland (judging from their names) are totally into their stuff and that’s important. Completely silly vocals (e.g. ‘Sex Chakra’)… actually, there seems to be the possibility of SAMMOHAN becoming cult. For me their music is just too conventional. I never liked the combination of traditional Metal and extreme vocals – and the SAMMOHAN vocals don’t really rock in terms of extreme stuff, either. Also sort of 80s screams. Reminds me a bit of SLAYER at times. Not quite as good but you’ll spot some insanity at least. Still, there is something fascinating about this band. I guess I’ll take the demo to the next Metal party. One day I might make up my mind about SAMMOHAN. Until then: if you’re looking for something exotic yet conventional – this is not the worst you can get I guess. www.sammohan.cjb.net
