Are you ready for a violent assault from South East Asia? If so, then you should lay your filthy hands on "Amulet Of Sin" which is the debut album by the wicked Siamese four piece SAVAGE DEITY. The horde might still be known to some of you out there due to their split 7" EP on Legion Of Death Records where they joined unholy forces with their country mates GOATCHRIST 666. The nine tracker (incl. a cover of ‘Evil Dead’ from the mighty DEATH) delivers roughly half an hour of unpolished old school Death Metal bestiality in its purest form with a strong thrashing approach in the riffing department. These lads from Thailand neither make any compromises nor taking any prisoners. The tunes are mostly played in a fast way (but not chaotic) and provide some decent, crushing rhythms and skull splitting riffs being ideal for a extended headbanging session. Some slower parts and mid pace eruptions add enough variety to the overall sound. The cool bass guitar lines are also worth being mentioned while the drum work is simple but effective and is just right for the Thai’s musical direction. The gruff sepulchral vocals are damned perfect here and increase the old school feeling. Sure the quartet doesn’t re-invent the wheel but they come up with a lot of passion and the right attitude which makes SAVAGE DEITY very sympathic from the beginning to the end. The production of the album is solid and it is able to unleash some vicious power. Of course there’s some space to develop as the sound is a little bit thin here and there but who cares? It’s fucking Metal! So if you are into South East Asian Metal forces or classic ancient Metal of Death in general then you should not hesitate to check out Bangkok’s finest at www.facebook.com/pages/savage-deity/175954109083054 or get in touch with their label for ordering details www.slaughterhouse.bigcartel.com.
