‘The revenge of Danish Heavy Metal’ is behind your front door. Dare to welcome your guests in? I did – and don’t regret it a bit. SERPENT SAINTS is a 6-piece Danish Metal act that plays Heavy Metal of the darkest kind, combining the NWOBHM sound with some elements from Speed and Thrash Metal into one solid – and may I even say, killer sounding package. Take the first 2 MAIDEN and MERCYFUL FATE records, and then spice them with some Thrash Metal riffs – and you basically have an idea how this Danish act SERPENT SAINTS actually sounds like. Let me also tell you this, they indeed do sound pretty awesome! The band keeps it true for themselves and just let all hell break loose on "All Things Metal", taking no prisoners so to speak. Vocalist Søren Adamsen from the more known Danish act ARTILLERY, does an absolutely fantastic job vocal wise, sounding evil and powerful with his raspy vocals, while the rest of his team finely supports Søren’s excellent vocal lines by the strong performance that simply reeks of all ground elements of true and raw Heavy Metal. SERPENT SAINTS have got a nice, smoothly flowing vibe included into this record, making "All Things Metal" an easy listen for everyone really. Even a cover version done for one of the most classic MERCYFUL FATE songs, ‘Come To The Sabbath’, really caught my ears with its sheer excellence, the SERPENT SAINTS mob giving it more than just a fair treatment in their hands. Søren even manages to do a similar falsetto type of singing in this tune that the song’s original performer Mr. Diamond did on MERCYFUL FATE’s 2nd full-length studio album ‘Don’t Break The Oath’ way back in 1984. In conclusion, get "All Things Metal" for yourself. Rarely you can hear Heavy Metal done so true-to-form these days as SERPENT SAINTS do it. Heavy Metal was supposed to be evil, dark and dangerous, remember? More info at: www.myspace.com/officialserpentsaints, www.emanesmetalrecords.com
