Let there be Doom! SERPENT WARNING is a fresh name on the Doom Metal scene, but better remember it: these four guys from Finland did their homework, and they know how to play Doom Metal the classic way. So if you worship acts such as SAINT VITUS, WITCHFINDER GENERAL or DAWN OF WINTER, then check them out, as there is a huge chance you will really enjoy these 6 songs included on their debut full length album (3 of them were available on the demo that was released in 2012). Slow, epic, but actually not too heavy – these days many bands tune down so much, that sometimes you don’t know if you still listen to a rhythm guitar, or already bass guitar. SERPENT WARNING perfectly balance between being heavy and dark from one side, and clean, transparent sounding from the other one – let’s guess: Marshall amps and Gibson guitars all the way? The bottom line is: they are good in what they do, and they play classic Doom Metal, deeply rooted in the ’70s. Hard to say if it’s future Doom Metal classic as it’s too early to judge, but this album surely deserve an attention: if you already remember all riffs from the new ORCHID album, then check out SERPENT WARNING!
