SIN OF KAIN
The End

The weapons of modern Metal mass destruction are a spreading illness and these days nobody seem to be frightened of mixing all kinds of influences into one big Metal melding pot. Especially DIMMU BORGIR – with their keyboard supported and clinical sound – have established a platform for this style and the Hungarian band SIN OF KAIN are even extending the borders. Founded in 2002 the band is playing (as basis guideline) Black Metal but the band is not following any kind of scene rules – something like Black Metal must sound raw, ugly and misanthropic. The guys are working on a very high technical level and you can find electronic influences and keyboards within the massive dose of hatred and aggression. So the basic elements for a good release are given but SIN OF KAIN are not in the position to differ their main influences to a degree that the songs become distinguishable. The album starts with ‘Mother Died’ – a 5 minutes song with a lot of energy and ideas (please also check the good video for this song on the wellknown platforms) but the identical ideas can be found in every of the seven songs. Needless to say that the whole becomes predictable after 3-4 songs and “The End” is a proof that even a wider horizon is no guarantee for variety within the musical concept. www.vicrecords.com, www.sinofkain.com
