Here In Hell

I’m not quite sure why I took over this review when I was approached by the band. Somehow their style doesn’t quite fit into the drawers of Voices From The Darkside. Whatever. Their music rocks. It’s pretty aggressive: a bit like PANTERA or MACHINE HEAD but with a slightly old school feeling at some points. Take the creepy beginning of the title track, for example. At least when they’re not getting groovy (which they do quite a bit – and they do it pretty good). I’m not sure whether it’s because there are only 3 tracks on here or because the songs are simply good – but somehow those 3 tracks enter my mind quite easily, especially the last one. The modern scent also seems to be the producer’s work: Simon Efemey (NAPALM DEATH, PARADISE LOST, etc.) put a lot of force and energy but also quite some clinical atmosphere into “Here In Hell”. Definitely recommendable to open minded listeners. www.skullshifter.com/
