I have spent more than a few years indulged in NWOBHM, if we have to do a total count, and that is why I become instantly happy, when I put on an album as “Vol. 2” with the British band SKYRYDER, as they have spent a day or two listening to NWOBHM before picking up their instruments and churning out their brand of Heavy Metal! If there is a thing I can’t get enough of, it is dual guitar leads and duels, raw Heavy Metal vocals, with the occasional high scream, a solid and rocking rhythm section, and some guitar leads on fire. Guess what girls and guys, SKYRYDER delivers those exact elements, with power and conviction! The vocals are amazing and hitting the moods the music is invoking perfectly, the guitars, damn… it is ace with icing and a cherry on top, some of the best eighties inspired contempary guitar riffing, dueling, and on top solos, damn! Yet a great classic Heavy Metal offering with its roots deep down in the world of NWOBHM, which ain’t a bad thing in my book. 2020 seems like it’ll become a great year for Heavy Metal.
