SOULDEVOURER
Demo
(Caco-Daemon Records)

The first time I came across the Caco-Daemon was the opening track of DEICIDE’s second album "Legion". The chorus "Satan Spawn, the Caco-Daemon" is one hell of a catchy tune. But back to this release. Germany based SOULDEVOURER are presenting their first demo via the small underground label Caco-Daemon Records, a label which focused on releasing very limited EPs and demos of old school Death Metal bands. The perfect setting for this little gem by SOULDEVOURER. Somehow the trio managed to recreate the sound of late 80s / early 90s pretty perfect, be it on purpose or just by chance. The music itself is a deep bow to Florida Death Metal. Just take a look at the cover and the style each letter is drawn. Does it remind you of monickers of well-known bands? A fine idea! The tape with three self-composed (plus the DEATH cover ‘Evil Dead’) is limited to 25 brown and 25 blood red items. But luckily there is also a digital download and physical CD available via the band’s bandcamp site. The first highlight in 2018!
