“Melody Of Chaos” by SOULREAPERS is an album released at the end of April that has unfortunately not yet made the headlines. But let us go in order. SOULREAPERS are basically a duo playing melodic Death Metal, consisting of Giuseppe “Buzz” Nicolò on all instruments and Mike Tarantino on vocals. The album was recorded and mixed at Lostsoul Studios in Calabria, in the deep south of Italy. The composition of the album, the first release for the band, focuses on more complex and memorable guitar riffs. The vocals remain true to Death Metal, with deep growls, but there may also be occasional clean vocals. The songs tend to have a greater variation in tempo and intensity, with passages that can vary from furious blast beats to more atmospheric and slower moments. Solos are an important component, often technical and melodic, adding a touch of virtuosity. The lyrics range from dark and introspective topics to fantastic, mythological or social themes. The album is therefore able to offer two directions, one purely extreme and one more melodic and symphonic, with a masterful use of heavy riffs, powerful growls, orchestral singing and harmonic keyboards.
