SPIRAL WOUNDS
Shadows
(Great Dane Records)
41:46min

Three beasts make up the Italian killer machine SPIRAL WOUNDS, among them Giuseppe “Tato” Tatangelo on vocals, who used to be the bass player in SCHIZO from 2010 to 2014. Little more than 40 minutes these guys take to devour your brains and to water your intestines with their extreme Death Metal, that is intricate, heavy and overwhelming and has strong reminiscences of American bands like AUTOPSY, REVENANT or IMPETIGO and of the most rotten new Death Metal, like their compatriots from MORBUS GRAVE or the Mexicans from SUMMONING DEATH. So, if you’re one of those who usually orbit those dense and dirty atmospheres, SPIRAL WOUNDS and their debut “Shadows” will be your thing. Ten songs, with an average length of four minutes, incinerate your skin with sharp riffs and a voice that verges on the psychotic, which is supported by some gutturals of a sick and bloodthirsty dog. The rhythms are contagious and are not only anchored in speed, but use many changes and breaks, giving shape to sticky songs that cause intense headbanging.
