The Swedish Metal scene is amazing. Sweden has approx. 9.000.000 inhabitants, but probably 1.000.000 Metal bands and at least 1.000 of them are great. On one side you have a band like KATATONIA with their great melancholy, LAKE OF TEARS with their great melodies, OPETH for being just unique, then you have bands like NECROPHOBIC which show you their side of musical darkness, MARDUK for playing Black Metal in its fastest form, DISMEMBER for still being what they were at the beginning of the 90s and at the end of heaviness and for being one of the fastest you can find a band like NASUM. But NASUM are no more… But now there are SPLITTER! I won’t say that SPLITTER are the successor of NASUM, but for the fans of "Human 2.0" and "Helvete" SPLITTER are a band more than worth to check out. In the first half of this 27 minutes on this MCD they offer you 11 songs of Swedish Grindcore with a fantastic sound (recorded live at Studio Fredman), in the 2nd half you get their demo "Stundens Chockerande Intryck" including 7 songs with a sound by far not as good as the first half for sure. SPLITTER’s type of Grindcore also includes a huge influence of Crustcore so at the end I can only give the advice to all of you out there who are looking for a bastard out of NASUM and SKITSYSTEM to check this band out immediately.
