STRIKEBACK
Share Your Hate

In the past years, the classic Thrash Metal of the 1980s had a quite fine comeback. Lots of new and young bands saw the light of day, old hands had their second or third spring and re-releases of classic and obscure records and even demos became quite popular. And there’s no end in sight to this wave. This is fine with me as long as it brings us bands like STRIKEBACK from Spain. This five piece is a blank page up to now, “Share Your Hate” is their debut full length. Their influences range from IRON MAIDEN over “the usual suspects” to even PANTERA and LAMB OF GOD. They can’t really deny that, and this range of influences makes the sound of STRIKEBACK pretty interesting. Somehow, “Share Your Hate” is like a journey through the history of Thrash, but an entertaining journey. There are a lot of tracks to check out here. Be it the fine Thrasher ‘Revolution’, the title track with its fine melodic breaks and even harmonic vocals in the bridge, the vigorous Thrasher ‘Kill Of Be Killed’ (sic!) with its classic solo or the programmatic ‘This Is Thrash’ – I have heard no real stinkers on “Share Your Hate”. So anyone who likes his Thrash Metal with a not too modern, early 1990s touch should check: www.facebook.com/strikebackmetalband, or listen to the band anthem ‘Strike Back’ at: http://strikebackofficial.bandcamp.com
