I’ll be honest here, technical Death Metal has never been one of those comfort zones for me and I need to admit that I’m not even sure if enclosing SUPREME VOID as a technical Death Metal band is fair enough as their sound doesn’t match just like “technical” and that’s it. I mean, from what I understand by technical Death Metal at least. I find SUPREME VOID way more dark and diverse than what I consider a very “simple” or tight definition of technical Death Metal for them. But anyways, this album “Towards Oblivion” really captured me. And I was not expecting anything different from what I’ve heard from SUPREME VOID in the past. That’s exactly what happened to me with this first full-length album. I kind of felt the same energy and style they presented us on their debut EP “End Of Games” in 2021. From the first few seconds, you understand SUPREME VOID isn’t really interested in impressing you with a wave of brilliant technicality. SUPREME VOID is a band looking for something deeper, darker, even if that technicality (perhaps) still may be there as one of their components. And that’s what pulled me in. Exile’s vocal delivery deserves a serious mention here. His voice isn’t just aggressive, it’s menacing, infernal, like it’s crawling up from beneath. I really like his vocals department. And musically? SUPREME VOID is pushing their previous material to the limit here. If you’ve heard the “End Of Games” EP or the recent singles, you’ll notice that “Towards Oblivion” is a natural, but massive leap forward. The band has sharpened their edge, deepened their approach and carved out a sound that feels truly their own. In my opinion, SUPREME VOID made something that’s not just technical, but emotional, raw, immersive. If you’re into bands like GORGUTS, REDEMPTOR (Poland), ULCERATE or AD NAUSEAM (Italy), you’ll probably feel like SUPREME VOID is raising their glass from the same bottle. Get ready!
