Bleak, is more or less enough to describe this, the debut album of Norwegian SYNING, bleak is the music and atmosphere through these three tracks and 35 minutes. Ambient doomy soundscapes with traces of Black Metal ethics and atmosphere. This is very dark and consuming music, quite simplistic, yet very effective and drawing. We are getting a healthy dose of Black Metal during the first track ‘Atter Igjen Kommer Mørket Krybende’. It is more varied during the second track ‘Et Siste Skrik’, where the ambient parts are mixed quite well into the creepy and eerie atmosphere. SYNING has delivered a quite good debut release, if you don’t have enough darkness in your life, this will bring darkness to you in plenty. When best SYNING gives the same disturbed atmospheric feeling like CARPATHIAN FOREST did, when they were darkest and most evil, though SYNING never gets as sick, which is probably healthy for most.
