Bleeding For The Devil

The relocation of TARTHARIA from Russia to Finnland seems to have a good impact on their sound. After some chaotic releases where mastermind Antti Ihalainen tried to find the right sound for his project and tested several genres, he finally seems to have succeeded. "Bleeding For The Devil" is a modern Metal album with influences of Scandinavian Death and even Black Metal, Metalcore and Industrial Metal. The opener ‘Metal Salvation’ gives a good overview about the current direction of his project. Modern Metal with Core and Industrial influences and a nice lead guitar melody guiding through this track. ‘Bridges Burning Memories’ with its fine Death Metal lead guitar, female vocals in the beginning and the shouted vocals of Antti is another really cool track. ‘Satisfactory Suffocation’ with its uptempo drumming and keyboards and slow melodic part in the middle is a small melodic hymn with a killer lead melody again. Of course the delivered material is not providing any new things as many other bands have delivered similar or even better material before. Anyway I must say, that the material is very fine and the project made a huge step forward in their musical development and if you are into the modern genre, check this CD out, as the songs are of high quality, especially the leads are very fine and considering the fact that this seems to be a one man project, the overall production is very professional. I always try to recall, of which band(s) he reminds me, but it is difficult anyway nowadays to keep apart all the Modern Metal projects, as all of them deliver high quality stuff but are not sounding very unique in the end. I am really curious, how this project will continue in the future as with proper label support and more songs like this, they really can get attention in the underground. The last track ‘Mission Failed’ is not correct, as I can say, first level well completed. Ready for level two. http://tarthariaofficial.bandcamp.com, www.myspace.com/tartharia
