Signo De Taurus

For those not aware of this act, TAURUS, you have sadly missed a real gem in the international Metal community. Thankfully I was turned onto these Thrashers sometime ago and have known of their incredibly straight-forward and catchy Thrash Metal. And for those that care, I even have an original copy of their debut album and prize it highly in my collection, even if it is sung completely in Portuguese! Makes no matter! TAURUS is the Brazilian answer / equivalent to Germany’s EXUMER. Yes, you read right I said EXUMER! EXUMER with a touch of Bay Area inspired mayhem à la Baloff-era EXODUS added in also, and you know with that kind of comparison, this album absolutely just rips from start to finish. Definitely not for the weak at heart! Founded in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro by the Bezz brothers Claudio (g) and Sergio (d), they released two demos, one in their very first year of 1985 and another in early 1986, and were closely watched by a local record company by the name of Point Rock Records who knew a good Metal band when they heard it. Point Rock approached and signed TAURUS, their first album to be released in the latter half of 1986. "Signo De Taurus", was / is that album and although sadly not as widely advertised abroad as it should have been. This LP still to this day considered by all that have heard it as one of the best South American Metal records from the 80s. Now via yet another Brazilian Metal label, Marquee Records, arrives " Signo.. " for the first time on CD! This disc being complete with bonus and live tracks, extensive liner notes and rare pictures and all for the mere asking price of $9.99 U.S. + postage. A true steal!  Contact: www.myspace.com/taurusofficial or www.marquee.com.br
