TENEBROSUS
The Fall Of Worthless Morals
(Metal Mind Productions)
36:29min

Hrrmphhh… a first glance at the booklet seems to say everything as TENEBROSUS’ corpsepaint naughtily lacks any creativity… or have IMMORTAL, MAYHEM and TAAKE moved to Poland and started a new project? Not very likely… What we get on "The Fall…" is grim Black Metal, raw and without any keyboards or chubby opera divas. Not original at all but enjoyable indeed. These guys play their music with passion and hatred. Nothing more, nothing less. The production is a little too good. Sorry? Well, those "shitty" typical raw Black Metal productions usually support that ice cold feeling we cherish so much in case the band is any good. On the other hand, this production isn’t good enough, either as it doesn’t really blow you away like a DIMMU production, for example. But there is a third point to consider: maybe the new old formula of how to produce a "true" Black Metal album has become almost trendy again and therefore I believe that the sound on "The Fall…" does have a certain right of existence. So the only point of negative criticism is the playing time. And it’s not even 36:29 minutes of pure Black Metal: it’s less than 30 minutes as there are some strange creepy noise intros, interludes and outro that support the record and everything but in the end "The Fall…" is a pretty short album, Good but short. I might have bought this if I was into Black Metal exclusively. www.tenebrosus.prv.pl
