Daylight Deception

With the downfall of a record company a lot of broken dreams come along especially for the involved bands which can’t release their recorded albums due to unpaid studio bills. For the Swedish youngsters THE BEREAVED the described scenario really took place after their label Black Lotus closed their unholy doors. But thanks to the resurrected Vic Records and some friendly support by Dan Swanö their second album “Daylight Deception” will be finally released (with a delay of nearly 3 years) and the everlasting oblivion could be avoided. Their musical influences are raging around the Swedish Melodic (modern) Metal trinity – IN FLAMES, SOILWORK and to some degrees also the almighty DARK TRANQUILLITY. Within the last 10 years an uncountable amount of newcomers from all over the world have tried to reach the musical level of their idols but only a handful of this bands are now playing in the same league (for example the German DARK AGE ). The musical background of THE BEREAVED is more than obvious but I can’t find any point of criticism during the 10 songs journey. The band has recorded an album which will satisfy every fan of this style – aggressive Melodic Metal with catchy keyboards plus good clean vocals and even the brutal Death Metal roots of this style are sometimes shining through(‘An Inconvenient Lie’). Everybody who is looking for an ambitious band far away from the ‘tired’ musicians of the above mentioned holy trinity – here they are – for further info check. www.vicrecords.com, www.myspace.com/thebereavedswe
