THE HERETIC
Chemistry For The Soul

Spanish label Xtreem Music has a talent to discover and sign excellent Death Metal acts e.g. Sweden’s VERMINOUS, PAGANIZER or Spanish fellows VISCERAL DAMAGE, but besides the boring GODÜS another even worse band namely THE HERETIC have been picked up by the label although a trash can or sauna club would be the right place for this band. Crappy keyboards and sounds reminding me of that German lady whistling famous tunes on TV – I don’t remember her name, maybe something with Ilse – have been blended with melodic Black / Death which is performed skilfully but exactly fits into the category of Metal I absolutely despise and most (all?) other contributors to this webzine shun, too. There are so many great unsigned bands and acts like THE HERETIC get their deal – why????? Their music is well-played, well-produced, sounds individual and new, but it perverts and affronts everything Black or Death Metal is about – not sissies, happy, cheesy melodies and “symphonic” elements, it’s about darkness, violence, hatred, evil, blood, zombies, grave desecrating, war and sodomy! That sounds infantile and not very mature, but that is what MY Metal is about and THE HERETIC make fun of it. This shitty review is enough promotion for them. www.xtreemmusic.com, www.the-heretic.go.to
