THE OATH from France are active for 15 years by now and “Consequences” is the fourth full-length. The characteristic feature of the band’s music is a mix between Gothic and Black Metal with the sometimes heavy use of synthesizers / keyboards. Maybe some people know AGATHODAIMON from Germany, a band which used to play the same style. CRADLE OF FILTH? No, not really. Because CRADLE are using tons of keyboards, different vocals and riffs and chords twisted and mixed in a high-performance computer ending up in a high-end sound with a bazillion digital audio tracks and the idea of the song is completely getting lost during this procedure. THE OATH have a rather atmospheric approach, the different instruments and vocals can unfold their characteristic trademarks. Of course the atmosphere is not just mellow and gloomy, but also wild and galloping and the whole range of emotions is covered.
