THE RADIANT LIGHT
How To Leave This World In Peace

THE RADIANT LIGHT are hailing from Belgium and present their first full-length via Ván Records. The band plays a very dark version of Folk Metal, dealing with a lyrical concept about life and death and its last moments. ‘Uncreation’ is a stringed intro before ‘The Portal’ starts with spoken passages and continues very quiet. Their style could be described as a black painted version of PINK FLOYD meeting AGALLOCH and ANATHEMA. The ten tracks deliver really quiet and non Metal stuff, using acoustic guitars, mellotrons and hammond organ. Apart from the obvious missing Metal note, the music definitely is interesting and grows after some more spins. I caught myself being forced to sink into my deepest thoughts listening to the material. Fans of Ambient stuff definitely should check this out while Metal lunatics might miss the hard tones here.
