Pull The Trigger... And Bite This Bullet

Hailing from Madrid, Spain, the 4-piece act THE SEED is probably pretty unknown to many of us, but then again, in the world of hundreds of thousands and even zillions of Metal bands nowadays, none of us is able to keep a precise track about each band’s comings and goings that accurately, right? “Pull The Trigger… And Bite This Bullet” is THE SEED’s 2nd full-length studio outing, introducing a band that mixes all kinds of Metal basically, i.e. PANTERA-esque groovy Metal mixed with some Death Metal, some more of Thrash Metal and some Metalcore-ish elements even. It’s not all that bad as it may sound to some of you at first. I mean, this is kinda heavy and uncompromising shit from start to finish, occasionally oozing sheer testosterone more than a horny bull in the middle of responsive cows. Besides overall proving to be a well-executed and very riff-orientated stuff, although coming with no surprises at all, it somehow still manages to work for some odd reason, partly at least. I think some minus points on the record are the songs’ tendency to follow the same route from start to finish, lacking in some variation here and there, plus some of the songs tend to drag too much due to turning to pretty lengthy songs. Cutting away circa 10-15 minutes away from the album’s maximum content, would give the album a more coherent facelift, I guess. There’s something good – and something not that good on this record, and if asked my own favorite track off of this record, I would go with a song called ‘Suffering Pride’, which simply pleases my ears for its attempt to break the band’s regular musical box a little bit. Nevertheless, good but not that mind-blowing stuff on here. More info about THE SEED, at: www.theseedmetal.com, label: www.jmbrecords.com
