“Out Of The Dark”, this is the name of the new full-length album by the American Heavy / Doom Metal band THE WATCHER, released by Cruz Del Sur Music. The album presents eight tracks, delivering over 36 minutes of the most exquisite Heavy / Doom Metal to end this 2024. Before “Out Of The Dark”, THE WATCHER had presented us “Your Turn To Die” in 2021, an EP that hinted at their dark melodies. “Out Of The Dark” stays true to the foundational elements of the band, but gives them a prism to “watch” all the colors of the spectrum. They inject enough personality into their compositions to keep the music inside the box. Highlights include tracks like ‘Out Of The Dark’ (the opening track), ‘Exiled’ (just in the middle) or ‘Thy Blade, Thy Blood’, this last one being, why not, one of the tracks I enjoyed the most throughout entire the album, which showcases their ability to eject melody seamlessly and creates the perfect environment for them to stand out. Needless to say that (perhaps) they might reflect the most traditional elements of bands like PENTAGRAM, TROUBLE or CANDLEMASS in their songs and create their own flag to be raised all around the corners of Heavy / Doom Metal. No doubt, THE WATCHER has delivered an impressive album, solidifying their intention to be part of this realm in the near future.
