The Final Hours

THERMALITY from Sweden is a melodic Death Metal band with four years of existence, but two since they released their first single “Awful Lies” in 2022. They put out six singles, one EP and one full length since they showed up. This 2024, they are presenting their second full-length “The Final Hours”, an album that is displaying a more Death Metal spirit compared to their previous releases and still dancing all around melodies and even Metalcore structures along the way. Thus, I really enjoyed the intro, ‘MMXXIV’, an acoustic guitar piece that produces a good feeling towards the course of the album and kind of prepares the ears for the eleven remaining songs which, again, transit around aspects that combine melodic Death Metal elements with a more “modern” sound. The second song ‘Weeping Angels’, has a more dynamic feeling and vibe and is my favorite one of the album. Then I may highlight the last song of the album ‘Divinity Pt.2’, that was able to take me back to some old sensations from bands I used to listen when I was discovering my favorite Metal style back in the day. It starts with an acoustic guitar intro and then moves to the body of the song, a really melodic aura and like the announcement that the end is about to come dressed in a “Divinity”. So, this is how “The Final Hours” with almost 51 minutes length concludes. In essence, an album that sounds, again, “modern” to me, but still with some remembrances from older sounds and influences. www.facebook.com/thermality, www.facebook.com/blacklodgerecords
