Chilean true underground Metal label Proselytism is undoubtedly one of the most interesting independent underground labels these days, due to all of their efforts to get some nearly long-lost gems out in a luxury format, which this label has positively become known for. Remember Tacoma, Washington-based Thrashers THRASH FORWARD? Well, worry not – me neither. The band released a couple of demos between 1986-1990 before splitting up. THRASH FORWARD’s latter 9-track 1990 demo was re-released on Proselytism in January 2013, as remastered in a giant-sized digipak CD, and coming along with a small poster. Having been listening to this nearly 18-minute offering like from 5 to 6 times in a row now, I can safely say it’s a true pity the story for THRASH FORWARD simply ended way too soon, the guys even not getting a chance to record much else but just a couple of demos during their unfortunate short existence. I mean, THRASH FORWARD – just like the band name shamelessly suggests already, literally thrashed forward the way like tomorrow would never come. In some peculiar way, they remind me of the mixture of frenzied times of WHIPLASH’s "Power And Pain" – as well as NUCLEAR ASSAULT’s "Game Over" eras, sounding dangerous and even very violent at times, but that’s how Thrash Metal was meant to sound back in those days in the very first place, right? The bottom line is this is some kickass Thrash Metal, entertaining as fuck – and the more I am thinking back what this fine Thrash Metal act THRASH FORWARD could possibly have achieved if they had kept the wheel rollin’ for them for a few more years, the more I am starting to feel sorry for them they never really went anywhere, just no matter how hard and determinedly they may have pushed forward like a massive horde of lunatic bisons. However, despite of that, gladly we do have something a bit more official from this amazing Thrash Metal band in our hands now – thanks to Deathmessiah of Proselytism for seeing a true gem in here.
