Strange, weird, bizarre… that may be the right words to describe this album. If you do not call yourself an open-minded person you better stop reading, because “Four Scissors” really demands flexibility within your mind. The music features all kinds of different genres… from Gothic Metal to Power Metal, Industrial Noise to Dark Wave. And the most weird: all this put together in each song! You can not believe? Well, I could not believe it until I heard it for myself. You definitely have to listen to this album several times to notice all the different influences. Nearly all songs are with additional female vocals and especially when the band plays Power Metal it reminds of older NIGHTWISH stuff, other parts are obviously influenced by CRADLE OF FILTH, to give you just a few hints how TRANSCENDING BIZARRE sound like. Like I wrote above, if you are open-minded you should really pay attention to this release. It is really interesting to listen to, because the way they change from one style to another is incredibly amazing. There are no hard-hitting interruptions, more or less a never ending stream of inspiration. According to the band the title “The Four Scissor” is a kind of tribute to “The Four Seasons” by Vivaldi. So you can see what background this band has. Everyone who is interested in bands which leave the well known paths of extreme music behind should take a listen to “The Four Scissors”.
