TRISTMOON
As I Come To You
(self-financed)

It really doesn’t happen that often that you get hold of a metallic release from the land of Lebanon. Most of the stuff I heard of this country from the Near East was either a kind of raw and violent Black Metal or dedicated, traditional Heavy Metal worship. TRISTMOON’s musical approach is far beyond the afore mentioned styles. This squad plays a kind of atmospheric Dark / Black Metal with a Gothic flair. This self financed EP just includes one single track and it is of an epic character. It starts with a piano interlude and turns into a midpaced, symphonic hymn accompanied by blackened, screamy vocals. The sound of the track is ok for a demo (if you consider the recording circumstances of this song) but the guitars almost can’t be heard and lack aggression and power which is the result of the not so perfect production. So there is some space for improvement here. It’s very hard to judge a band just by one song only. So I will keep an eye on this band till their full length album is released (which should be in a short period of time). Anyway all people into exotic and obscure stuff can already get in touch with the band at vartabed@gmail.com.
