TROLLECH vs. HEIDEN

Truthfully the only aspect of this split CD release that I found of any interest was the booklet layout. Not the graphics per se but the esthetic style of it all. Sort of digi-pack but not really, kind of difficult to explain but I like it and it cleverly takes care of all that one needs when doing a concept like a split recording without having the extra costs of manufacturing and duplicating an item of hassle like an insert. You can effectively have all that information right here in this format, for each band, and with song titles, lyrics, contact information, band photos, artwork if need be and be none the worse for ware or stressing that you have to sacrifice anything for either of the acts featured. All is taken care of in this format, no cutting corners, and still when all is said and done you are left with plenty of room to advertise your other stars on your roster. Very nice. Very professional. As for the bands on this particular disc, neither of them is of my taste or liking. TROLLECH is described as "Great forest Black Metal with catching melodies, poetic lyrics with a natural concept". Those of you that read my words within these pages know of my disdain for this type of audio fodder. Even if played with any amount of conviction or recorded by those knowledgeable within the field. My instinct just screams…" Why bother?!" Next up is HEIDEN dubbed as "Excellent, powerful blackened Metal with interesting modality, great melodies and emotive lyrics". Imagine a bizarre hybrid of DISSECTION meets DISTURBED meets GOD FORBID.
