First off: everyone who still thinks it’s funny to use terms as kult and true in order to show that they’ve outgrown Black Metal, please die. But before you do so, attach those stupid words to the last record of Hungary’s very own TYMAH, it definitely deserves it. They label themselves "True Carpathian Black Metal", sport hand-drawn pictures accompanying the songs (each and every one of course symbolizing a gate to hell) and salute Dead and his evil black art in the booklet. Now don’t think I want to ridicule this three-piece, this has a purity and dedication to it that’s absolutely charming and the quality of their music is far above the standard nowadays. Especially if you take into consideration that this is a No Colours-Release after all. And the witch in charge of the vocals has some truly demonical throat second to none (well, except for DARKENED NOCTURN SLAUGHTERCULT maybe). After a trailblazing and furious opener the record unfortunately tends to get a little monotonous in the long run since all seven tracks are equally paced and structured. But there’s definitely a whole lot of talent shining through and the production keeps the balance between rawness and power perfectly. Promising! www.no-colours-records.de
