High On Metal / The Aftermath
(Iron, Blood And Death Corporation)

Although formed just in 2012, many members of this old school Speed / Thrash Metal band had already some experience form other entities. The very old school cover art, which reminds me of some old Wild Rags Records covers, fits quite with the music of this CD that is actually a compilation of their only 2 works, being those two EPs. I can appreciate their attitude, but to be honest the sound is quite way too muddy in the first part, yes it sounds like done on small budget in the 80s, but we are like 30 years in the future, so, it sounds bad rather than old school. Past the low production values, which are not that terrible, but… ok, music wise they are more into the traditional Metal sound, in the vein of early OMEN, MANOWAR some early IRON MAIDEN, maybe some touches of VENOM, RAZOR and yes, EXCITER, with quite rough vocals, that at times sound out of place, but on others it gives the band that rough, barbaric approach they are looking for. The second EP which comes in the last part, sounds a bit better, but the drums are still weak, and that old trick of sounding raw for sounding old, is getting quite on many peoples nerves. With a better production, I am sure this could be a lot better. I like more the way the vocals sound here, still rough and aggressive. These last songs have more of a Heavy / Speed blackened Metal sound in there. Taking in count this is a compilation, there is chance for a full length to be released in the same style, which is pretty fine by me, but with a better production, and we will surely have a very enjoyable and head banging Speed Metal assault as we have not heard in quite some time just as the song ‘The Aftermath’ clearly shows the potential. www.facebook.com/underattackmetal, http://ibdclabel666.bigcartel.com
