URSCHREI
Heidenzorn

The reviews for the very good and / or the really bad releases are in some way the easiest ones. The German newcomer URSCHREI are releasing their debut EP via Asatru Klangwerke and even if I know that we are talking about a young band is “Heidenzorn” the worst release I’ve had the pleasure to review during my time in the Voices team. The band is trying to play a kind of rough Pagan Metal but if it comes to the essentials like playing a clean guitar solo or adding some atmosphere to their songs the band is completely failing in the attempt. I would really like to advise some positive points to avoid this slaughter but the heathen vocals are more spoken passages than professional singing and I will not loose some words about the title track and the sing-along choir. Wotan will agree to the fact that not everybody is born for battle and URSCHREI can’t expect any mercy from my side – this release is not worth to be released on a wider scale (but please don’t ask me which scale would be suitable!) and in former times the record labels realized this fact before they invested their money. www.asatru-klangwerke.com, www.myspace.com/urschreidieband
