Old school Thrash Metal… gotta love those 4 aforementioned words, don’t you? Well, me too, so you are my friend. Mexican Thrashers in VENEMOUS must be our friends too as far as the band’s extremely fast-tinged, riff-laden and aggressive sounding old school Thrash Metal is concerned. These four Mexican blokes look young and reckless, full of willingness to fuckin’ thrash – and so they have indeed done on their debut album, titled "Ceremony", too. In a way they sound like early KREATOR mixed with some SLAYER, and added with some more relentless and wicked elements from the Brazilian Thrash masters VIOLATOR. In other words, expect a pretty violent and lethal dose of Thrash Metal from this wild bunch that isn’t ashamed of sounding like some other bands around them. These Mexican Thrashers know exactly how they want to sound like – being it straight aping of the sounds of some other bands or not, it really doesn’t matter a bit after all because good Thrash is always good Thrash – and there’s honestly a plenty of it on VENEMOUS’ tasteful done Thrash debut. VENEMOUS is the kind of Thrash Metal force that I’d personally wish them to make a long and successful career for themselves. They just kick ass big time, making me to keep my fingertips busy against this damn desk every time I listen to them. This is just old school Thrash Metal done right.
