VOMIT BREATH
Confessions Of A Necrophiliac Priest
(NoVisible Scars)
25:12min

16 songs clocking in at 25 minutes, a moniker like this and songtitles like ‘Crematory Stench’, ‘Sewn Together Sex Slave’ or even ‘Cannibal Vomitorium’; you don’t need to be a wise man to realise that these dudes won’t perform some sort of Funeral Doom. This Knoxville, Tennessee based duo decided to rape your ears with their idea of gory Death / Grind in the most positive way. No pig squeals, exaggerated harmonizer vocals or often used rape / splatter samples. You’ll get raw and simple aural attacks, that contain everything you need. From blasting sickness and grooving / crusty mid tempo, up to some nice slower, bulldozing parts. Combined with that fierce beast called Sam on vocals, who gives some variety with his gargling screams, that sometimes reminded me on Grant McWilliams (formerly of GENERAL SURGERY fame) on the one hand and that powerful growls on the other. First I thought there are two guys sharing the vocals duties, like it’s often the case in Death / Grind, but then I realised it’s just one insane guy. So big hands for that! Well, to make a long story short: this mean piece of brutal insanity provides every self-respected lover of that genre with all you need and expect from a band. And if you dig acts like SKULL HOG, REGURGITATE, DEPRESSION, old NAPALM DEATH, old GENERAL SURGERY, MACHETAZO or even old GUT, give it a try. I bet you won’t be disappointed. There is nothing I would change in no way, whether it is the raw production, the song structures or even the artwork. With the last mentioned and that album title, there’s one thing for sure: that release will leave more than one person in the Vatican with a sore throat and some kinda VOMIT BREATH behind. For the moment it seems to be a tape only release, but for those who can’t cope with those analog sources, you can also get it as a digital download. Tape collectors should get in touch with their label NoVisible Scars and get their copies immediately, due to that limited edition of only 100 copies. www.facebook.com/barthwell1978, http://nvslabel.blogspot.com, www.facebook.com/novisiblesacrs, www.novisiblescars.bigcartel.com
