The expectations concerning this release had not been extremely high but you should first hunt down your prey before you can really judge about its qualities. WALDSCHEIN are a further young German band which is releasing their debut release via Asatru Klangwerke and any interested listener can find far more light than darkness on "Verborgene Pfade". The youngsters are presenting 7 songs plus a short intro and the musical knowledge is there to justify an official release. Especially the guitars are in the position to create the necessary atmosphere and the band is trespassing the musical territory occupied by either melodic Black Metal and / or Pagan Metal. Some old demo tracks – taken from their demo 2007 – can also be found on this release but if you keep in mind that the band has been founded only two years ago this is no real point of criticism. For album number two WALDSCHEIN should try to give their drum parts a little bit more variety and a little bit more aggression would also harm nobody.
