ARTILLERY is currently working on the follow-up to their highly acclaimed album "When Death Comes" (2009) at Medley Studios, Denmark. The new album is entitled "My Blood" and will be released by Metal Mind Productions in March 2011. So far ARTILLERY recorded 14 songs – 10 brand new tracks, a remake of ‘Ain’t Giving In’ (from 1992’s "Mind Factory" demo) and 3 bonus tracks which are all new versions of timeless classics from the 1985’s album "Fear Of Tomorrow" (‘The Eternal War’, ‘The Almighty’ and ‘Show Your Hate’). Soren Adamsen, ARTILLERY’s vocalist and producer of the album, revealed a few titles of the new tracks. He also described the lyrics for those tracks: "’The Great Satan’ – it’s a song about the decadence of the western society and evil empires all around the world. ‘Monster’ – a song about serial killers. None in particular. ‘Death Is An Illusion’ – a track about life and death. ‘The End Of Eternity’ – dealing with depression and thoughts about starting a new life. ‘Mi Sangre’ – it’s about my son. It’s a 7 and a half-minute song, almost an epic endeavor. ‘Concealed In The Dark’ – two words – David Sharp. Go search for it on the internet, it’s an interesting story. ‘Dark Days’ – it’s about the change in the climate. ‘Warrior Blood’ – a song about fighting. Soldiers, prize-fighters, people who are struggling with deadly diseases." Guitarist Michael Stützer adds: "The sound is a bit more heavy than it was on "When Death Comes". The music is a mixture of our previous albums "When Death Comes" and "By Inheritance", with a slight touch of "Terror Squad" and "Fear Of Tomorrow" with some oriental pieces." The release date of "My Blood" is set for March 09, 2011 in Japan (via Kings Records), March 21, 2011 in Europe and April 05, 2011 in USA (via MVD). Full details to be announced soon.

Ever since Century Media Records re-released the 1991 MORGOTH album "Cursed" in 2006 as well as a "Best Of" compilation-release one year earlier, there have been constant rumours circulating about an actual comeback of MORGOTH. These rumours as well as several offers from festival promoters have finally challenged the band to actively celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original release of the "Cursed" album by playing some selected festival shows in 2011. The setlist will consequently mainly consist of songs from the "Cursed" album as well as some cuts from the classic 1989 / 1990 EPs "Resurrection Absurd" and "The Eternal Fall". The band’s line-up for these special shows is almost confirmed by now as well and will consist of Marc Grewe (vocals), Harry Busse (guitar), Sebastian Swart (guitar), Thilo Mellies (bass) as well as a great drummer, soon to be announced. Vocalist Marc Grewe comments as follows: "Throughout the next months we will make sure to prepare a great show for us all to celebrate together in 2011. We seriously look forward to seeing old friends, peers and faithful supporters of the band again as well as playing to new audiences during the upcoming string of festival shows." The first confirmed date for MORGOTH in 2011 can now also be revealed: the band will appear on a headlining slot at the 5th edition of the Death Feast Open Air 2011. Death Feast takes places June 23 – 25, 2011 in Hünxe / Germany and other heavy-weight Death Metal acts to appear will be Grave, Vader, Pestilence, Krisiun, Misery Index and Gorguts, to mention but a few. Latvian old school, "sludge-laden" Death Metallers DISEIM have been signed by Abyss Records. The band was formed in 2007 by drummer Imants Vovers and guitarist Dmitrijs Bulavskis. In 2008 vocalist and main songwriter Sergey Stavro joined the band, adding his poignant lyrics and guttural growl to a sound already defined by breakneck percussion and grinding guitar riffs. In 2009 the line-up was rounded out by bassist Alex Makarovs. DISEIM frequently performs live and recently released their first five-song demo, "Sinner". The band is currently recording their full-length debut. More info at www.myspace.com/diseim

KING DIAMOND was rushed to hospital on November 29, where it was found that he’d had several heart attacks, and that the only way to unblock three clogged arteries was open heart surgery. Says his wife / bandmate Livia Zita of his current state of health: "King’s surgery took approximately seven hours. Everything went well, and King was taken to ICU for recovery. He was walking and eating solid food already two days after the operation, and he was the first one in the history of the hospital who walked on his own power from the ICU to normal care. 10 days after the ambulance took him to the emergency room, he is at home and is recovering well. It will be a few months before he feels completely normal and is without pain. In light of this, he will be taking a break from music and the music business altogether until further notice. He very much wants to write new music, finish the DVDs, and go on tour, but for now, all those things are in the distant future and he’s not thinking about them. Please understand that the Kind Diamond band is not stopping, disbanding or anything of the sort. King’s health is first priority, and when everything is going good with him, the music will resume."

ASPHYX has issued the following announcement about working on new songs for an upcoming album titled "Deathhammer": "ASPHYX is currently working on songs for the upcoming "Deathhammer" album. ARES KINGDOM has returned to their Very Metal Sound studio and pre-production rehearsals for an upcoming release titled "Veneration", through NWN! Productions. Release formats will include mini LP and mini CD. The selected covers represent a cross-section of ARES KINGDOM’s influences, as well as a couple of songs from their previous bands, VULPECULA and NEPENTHE: SLAUGHTER LORD – ‘Die By Power’, SACRILEGE – ‘The Captive’, NEPENTHE – ‘Oblivion’, R.U. DEAD? – ‘When Your Heart Turns Black’, VULPECULA – ‘Celestial’ and DOKKEN – ‘Without Warning/Tooth And Nail’. 2010 was ARES KINGDOM’s busiest year yet. It started with two shows opening for the reunited ORDER FROM CHAOS on January 2nd in Kansas City and January 16th in Los Angeles. The L.A. show also marked the release of the band’s second full-length album, "Incendiary" through NWN! Productions. The album has entered its second pressing and is available on LP, CD and ‘die hard’ picture disc. The nine-song album, described by guitarist Chuck Keller as, "’Return To Dust’ magnified in every respect", was immediately embraced by ARES KINGDOM’s Chaosmongers, with many reviewers wondering aloud why the band remains so deeply underground. These early-year shows were followed by an appearance in St. Louis with Zuul and Terra Caput Mundi on March 26th, and then Chicago on March 27th with ORDER FROM CHAOS. The following weekend ARES KINGDOM appeared with ORDER FROM CHAOS at the Destroying Texas Fest in Houston. The band played Minneapolis in June and Baltimore’s Defenders of the Old Fest on October 16th with Bloodfeast, Tyrant, October 31st, Extermination Angel and Sentinel Beast. The year’s live appearances culminated on November 20th when ARES KINGDOM subdued Berlin along side NWN Fest allies Order From Chaos, Blasphemy, Mystifier, Xibalba, Black Witchery, Proclamation, Blasphemophager, Bone Awl and Faustcoven – among others. EXUMER have been confirmed to headline one additional festival date in Cuautitlan / Mexico, on December 18, 2010. The "Keep The Thrash Festival", will be second date on the band’s itinerary and will feature some of the bands that have been confirmed for the "Thrash Or Die Festival", in Tijuana / Mexico on December 17, 2010. This second date has been added, due to the requests by Mexican fans and on the recommendation of the Mexican promoters who want to expose EXUMER to as many Mexican fans as possible. Vocalist Mem V. Stein comments: "We were surprised and delighted at the same time when the Mexican promoters asked us to add another stop in Mexico. It proves the band’s popularity and cult status in Latin America. We will definitely try to cover as many countries in that region as possible when we return there next year. We have focused on playing live in Europe last and this year, which was important for the band’s re-establishment as a whole. However, North and South America are on our agenda for 2011, and that is where we would like to play the majority of our live shows." For more information go to: www.myspace.com/exumerwakingthefire

After a string of successful shows commemorating the recent induction of their 1991 classic, "Onward To Golgotha" into Decibel’s Hall Of Fame, members of INCANTATION have made the following statements thanking fans and friends for their continued support: "Hi, yes we would like to thanks everyone for the support. We had a great time! INCANTATION fans are the best and we look forward to seeing you guys next time on tour" – John (McEntee, guitar / vocals). "Hello friends and Metallers. I would like to personally thank all my friends and everybody that came out this past weekend to support INCANTATION. We traveled some serious miles to bring all of you the best live INCANTATION shows to date. It was an honor to play for you the album that helped create the path for what INCANTATION is today. Playing the "Onward To Golgotha" songs were a pleasure and from the crowd response, I’m glad you liked it as well as we did playing it. And for those of you who got to hear our new unreleased material for the up and coming movie soundtrack for After Party Massacre it was again a great feeling to hear you tell us that it’s some of the best INCANTATION you’ve ever heard. Amazing response, thank you!!! I would like to thank Albert and all of the Decibel Magazine Metal crew, Dan from Pantheon Agency, the local promoters in Chicago, NYC and Cleveland, Funerus, Fatalist, Cardiac Arrest, Mortician, Embalmer, Soulless, the best INCANTATION working crew their ever could be, ‘My Neighbors’ Driver John, Evl, Kristoff, and Anderson, most importantly John McEntee, Alex Bouks, Chuck Sherwood, Jill McEntee, Sam Inzerra and everybody else that was involved to make this happen!! As you may have heard we recorded this weekend audio and video, so look for this amazing blasphemous Metal weekend to be available on DVD so it can be remembered forever!!!! Hail Fuckin’ Metal!!!" – Kyle Severn (drums). "Just got home from a great few days and very tiring time. I want to thank all the fans and Albert and Decibel for making this all happen; especially everyone from NY who stuck around to make that show happen. Cheers" – Alex (Bouks, guitar). "Many killer memories and also some real insane moments that’ll forever be carved into our memories from this "Onward To Golgotha" trifecta of Metal assault! The first show took place at the Reggie’s Rock Club after merging with Funerus and Fatalist we were welcomed by the hellish maniacs who attended that night. Cardiac Arrest was a true sight to behold with their unrelenting rage and force. Great to share a stage with those grinding, churning, malevolent purveyors of Metal yet again. The staff and everyone at the Reggie’s Rock Club were brilliant. Re-introducing or reuniting with friends from Cult of Daath, Ezurate, Cyanide and our other friends and comrades who made the trek to come and show their support. It was great to share a stage and or see you all again! Our new mage of the stage, sound guy namely a John "Evl" Sustar was great at providing his talents to make for a killer show. Also his expertise came through with his amazing recording of the three shows which is sure to surface. Through the set of the first release which is the whole intent of these shows we also played some other tracks from the lengthy career of the project which were hopefully taken as we intended. With nothing but torturous Metal energy!! From there we left for the long journey to NY’s own Europa club. Aside from the new found camaraderie of our plethora of ‘Johns.’ Merch guy, number 2 of 4, John ‘Mr.’ Anderson keep our sprits high with his technique of cutting off impatient commuters in ‘The City.’ The 15+ hours on the road there (with little to no sleep) made my mind wonder to a scene in In the Mouth of Madness where the very road beneath the car would disappear to storm clouds and lightning. All of us persevered to a very rushed but successful show with the mighty Mortician sharing a stage with us for total of a little over an hour. Fatalist however who traveled from California wasn’t so fortunate when they were notified they wouldn’t be playing that night due to time constraints of an early end and a ‘double dipping’ situation having both a show and dance club on the same night. Our sympathies go out to them for although the events that transpired were out of our hands, long travels and miscommunication reigned indefinitely. The Metal merchants which included Jim and Craig of the original "Golgotha…" line-up, Richard Christy, and many others who came out to support were a standing tribute to the dedication and ardent nature of Metal. We salute you all, and thank you for making the night memorable. After a frenzy of equipment and merch whirlwinded from the Europa, we found ourselves back in the vans making miles yet again back to Cleveland. With our John 3 of 4, ‘Driver John’ Williams put forth an effort that shamed most, by hauling us and the gear for eleven-hour stints and just pushing himself to the limit. We finally arrive in Cleveland to a great start when Embalmer took the stage followed by Thrash masters Soulless who after their 2nd song were abruptly stopped by a power outage that lasted what seemed like forever. After almost two hours of darkness the mood had turned from boredom to rage when Fatalist hit the stage crushing the audience before their immediate departure back home. Funerus was to follow pulverizing the audience yet again. With the whole of the show and the entire weekend for that matter Kristoff who took time from his busy schedule of shooting After Party Massacre, not to mention his horrormerch.com business. He and his camera were to follow documenting the trip, the insanity, and the violent barrage of Metal that took place. Also to mention Kristoff’s footage will be an official "Onward To Golgotha: Weekend With Incantation" DVD set, for next years release. Many hails to his flurry of paparazzi moments and all of the hard work he put into each show. In conclusion, the first album personally speaking was a mind altering experience back in the early 90s when I was a foot shorter and much more a novice to legendary Death Metal acts such as the one I’m now proud to be a part of. With a line-up of such insane musicianship and talent that made the "Onward To Golgotha" album I could only hope that the past three shows paid homage to them and kept the flames of their legacy burning bright. A strange situation in a way to find this said album being herald into a hall of fame when it was only such, to the minds of those whom came into contact with it. Amongst the 15-18 year-olds back then (myself included) who treated this album as a time honored piece, never could imagine such a thing. Hails to everyone who was involved and whom we’ve met while out for the three show run this past weekend. Till our next meeting" – Chuck (Sherwood, bass).

Swedish Death Metal act DEATHCHAMBER has just released their debut demo "His Will Be Done" with four tracks of "straightforward brutal Death Metal mixed with odd time signatures and symphonic features". The band was formed in early 2006 when drummer Dennis Bobzien and guitarist Markus Tervamäki met and decided to form a band and play extreme Metal. A first line-up with Roberth Lindström (LODGE) on vocals and Andreas Ekberg on bass was set. The band worked on their songwriting, but in early 2007 both Roberth and Andreas dropped the band due to lack of time and interest. In late 2007 the current line-up was set when Martin Runnzell (TAEDEAT, ENGRAVED) joined on vocals and Peter Uvén (SLOWGATE, SCARS OF PARADISE, April DIVINE) joined on bass and a first song (‘War Of The Minds’) was recorded in December / January 2007 / 2008. DEATHCHAMBER continued to write songs evolving to the current sound of aggressive Death Metal yet with experimental features. The work on their debut demo, "His Will Be Done", progressed during 2010 and it was finally released in November this year. More info at www.myspace.com/deathchamberswe
