SADISTIC INTENT, from Los Angeles, California. Bloody brilliant band and incredibly underrated. I’m guessing the fact that they never did an actual full album doesn’t help, but they are around since the late ‘80s (!) and left quite a nice legacy, releasing a bunch of demos, singles and split EPs. “Reawakening The Death-Ridden” is a compilation which includes both songs from the split with Dutch Death Metallers PENTACLE, which came out in 2016, two songs from the “Reawakening Horrid Thoughts” EP (the DARKTHRONE cover is sadly not included here) and four songs recorded live at the Brutal Assault Festival in 2018. I was quite skeptical about those live tracks, as many of those underground releases recorded live usually have bootleg quality, but I need to admit the quality here is truly excellent. SADISTIC INTENT completists should be tempted by this live material, as due to my knowledge these recordings weren’t before released. And if this band is new to you, you might start from discovering their back catalog from this compilation, which (at least in theory), should be easily available for a while.
