The new line-up of ABBATH now consists of Abbath (vocals/ guitar), King (bass) and Creature (drums). The band will play its very first show next Saturday, when they will headline the Inferno stage at the Tuska Festival in Helsinki, Finland. ABBATH will premiere a brand new song entitled ‘Fenrir Hunts’ alongside classic IMMORTAL material including ‘One By One’, and a handful of songs from Abbath’ and King’s 2006 project I will also be performed live for the first time. Spanish Death Metallers AVULSED will release their new 5-song EP "Altar Of Disembowelment" on September 9, 2015 via Xtreem Music. The 10" vinyl version will be released at the same time by Greek label Screaming Victims Distro, limited to 500 copies, with 100 units in five different colours each (black, red, blue, clear and marble). The track ‘To Sacrifice And Devour’ is already streaming here. "Altar Of Disembowelment" was recorded in three diferent studios and mixed at Overhead Studios by Raúl Fournier "Furni" (ex – drummer of AVULSED) between 1994 – 2004 and later mastered at Unisound Studios by Dan Swanö. The EP marks the recording debut for new drummer Erik Raya and the cover artwork was created by Juanjo Castellano who already was responsible for the cover art for AVULSED’s "Ritual Zombi". Apart from 4 new AVULSED songs "Altar Of Disembowelment" also includes a cover of BLACK SABBATH’s ‘Neon Knight’ that originally was recorded in late 2010 for a DIO tribute album that ended up being a fiasco. "The Church Dies", 1994’s debut album from Slovakian Death Metallers DEMENTOR, will be re-released together with the band’s 1993 "Morbid Infection" demo on CD / vinyl via Dark Symphonies / The Crypt in late 2015 / early 2016. It will be designed after the original 1994 cassette release, featuring the original cover artwork, taking elements from the original layout with attention to detail, even down to the logo and typeface. Also included will be unpublished classic band photos, flyers and liner notes from founding member / original bass player Robo Jancik. David Vincent and MORBID ANGEL have officially parted ways now. In his official statement Vincent says: "I had good communication with Trey yesterday and we agree that there are incompatibilities with regards to us working together. Trey and I have accomplished amazing things together over the past 30 years and I wish him the best with his future projects. Out of respect for the legacy of these accomplishments, I encourage MORBID ANGEL fans to not take sides, because I am not. I look forward to sharing my new endeavors with all of you in the near future. Until then, stay Morbid!"
Guitarist Thor Anders Myhren, better known as "Destructhor", has left MORBID ANGEL as well now. In an official statement he says: "I would like to announce that I, Destructhor, as well am out of MORBID ANGEL. Due to issues of them wanting to work with someone more local. Actually pretty good news to me, since I personally decided to leave MORBID ANGEL after the last tour we did in Europe in November / December 2014. It is definitely time for me to move on with the Norwegian extreme act MYRKSKOG. This is where I truly belong and exciting things are happening! A new record is being released next year with coming tours, festivals and so on. So it’s time to step it up and prepare for war with my Norwegian / Swedish brothers in MYRKSKOG. As for MORBID ANGEL, I wish them all the best with everything! It’s been a lot of great experiences! No hard feelings at all and may the future bring us all to another dimension!"
Doug Overbay, rhythm guitarist for Kansas City based Death / Thrashers ARES KINGDOM, is taking an indefinite hiatus from the band in order to address health issues. The band will continue as a three piece with Alex Blume (vocals / bass), Mike Miller (drums) and Chuck Keller (guitars). The line-up change will have no effect on any upcoming shows. The band is currently in post-production with their new album "The Unburiable Dead" at their own Very Metal Sound studio in suburban Kansas City. The release is scheduled later this year through NWN! Five years after he joined the band, drummer Tim Yeung has left MORBID ANGEL. In an official statement he said: "As some of you know, there have been some line-up changes with MORBID ANGEL. Unfortunately, due to financial differences, I will not be continuing with them. It has been a great five years being involved with MORBID ANGEL. I’ve met a ton of great people all over the world, played some amazing shows, and have a ton of great memories as well as stories. I wish Trey and MORBID ANGEL all the best. As for myself, I’m always up for the next opportunity life throws my way." At this point of time a new drummer for MORBID ANGEL has not been announced yet. In response to the news that Trey is working on music with Steve Tucker again (who fronted MORBID ANGEL on the three full-length albums "Formulas Fatal To The Flesh", "Gateways To Annihilation" and "Heretic") vocalist / bassplayer David Vincent has issued the following statement in the meantime: "I am aware of Trey Azagthoth’s announcement of a collaboration with Steve Tucker on new music. However, the inference that I have left MORBID ANGEL is incorrect. To be clear, I have not left MORBID ANGEL nor have I been asked to do so."
