Reviewing this CD is a pain in the neck! “Necro post-Black Metal” from Italy. Aaaarrrggghh! I really can’t stand those bloody drum computers! There are “classic” Black Metal songs on here as well as sort of Black Dance(?) Techno(?) songs. I’m really not into that style’s register. What’s evil about dancing? Nothing! Or, in other terms: everything! It’s also a matter of belief. On the other hand I see the high level this band is on. Sometimes fairly straight forward, sometimes it even reminds me a bit of CYNIC, especially track No.3 ‘U.V. Impaler’. They definitely create a frightening, cold and aggressive atmosphere and when I start seeing parallels to mighty SIRIUS on ‘Humechanics-Virus’ that’s honestly a compliment. I only hope SIRIUS don’t take this path. Although I’d like to, I can’t really ask the band to throw away their drum machine and hire a decent drummer because that would mean a big change in the approach. Maybe they should try to create a more powerful drum sound for the “classic” Black Metal tracks. Anyway, the more I listen to ABORYM, the more I’m drawn into their world, so now I deliberately stop this CD: I WON’T DANCE! By the way, there is a CD ROM video on here but I’m too stupid to open it. www.code666.net/aborym.
