“From The Darkest Star”, Norwegian ALLFADER’s (not to be mixed with that other band ALLFATHER) first release consists of their whole demo material and two brandnew tracks and goes into the modern, atmospheric Dark / Black Metal direction. Actually the pretty young ALLFADER, formed in 2001, have two problems, which I consider annoying: a) a fucking drum computer!!! I can’t help about hating such acts, because it can not be that hard to find at least a session drummer. A computer that replaces a human battery is not Metal!!! Problem b) I would like to ask a question: is there anyone out there who needs another band that combines standard Black / Death riffs with some synthesizer arrangements, grim vocals, clean male (awful) and female “howling” and some spacy melodies here and there? Sounds very innovative, huh? The only remarkable thing about this release is the excellent artwork by Lasse Hoile (www.lassehoile.com), a guy who definitely deserves to be positively mentioned here, really beautiful dark and melancholic paintings. If you are totally into Dark or atmospheric Black Metal check this CD out, you might like it, but I guess you are not the person that usually comes across our website.
