ANTACID / HATRED

Generally speaking, splits don’t often achieve the kind of appreciation demos or albums enjoy regularly. Naturally there are exceptions, and its perfectly sound to hope that this particular one remains in circulation. ANTACID hail from Malyasia, HATRED from South America, and both are healthy participants in the globaly revitalized Thrash scene. Normally it’s best to approach new Thrash with caution, as it’s typically banal and corny, but, as stated above, there are exceptions. This may not be the best recording to shoot out of the notoriously brutal South America, but it’s damn good enough. Sure, it’s no SARCOFAGO, but how often can one expect to hear another band of that caliber? No, this is fine Thrash. Surprisingly fine considering the crap coming out these days. The songs are strong and imperative; the vibe a drunken, mad haze of red. Not bad. Not bad at all. www.areadeath.net
