Hardrock made by Black Metallers. That would be easy huh? Well, although this is true, there is quite lot more to it. If you never experienced the 80s Hardrock / Glam Metal thing, you probably will not understand this. Otherwise, welcome to one quite entertaining record. ARMOUR will do nothing different or original, but then again this kind of music is not for that. This was made for having fun. And regarding that matter, it does accomplish its mission. The style of ARMOUR is based on Hardrock and Heavy Metal. On their previous release “The Sonichouse Tapes” they were a mixture of W.A.S.P. early MÖTLEY CRÜE, RATT and some few IRON MAIDEN. Nothing has been changed for this self-titled full length album. Maybe I hear the production to be a bit more polished, but that’s it. Easy riffs, good choruses, and add to all a spicy of early Speed Metal to it. Vocals by Vince (SATANIC WARMASTER) are a love or hate thing, sounding like a bastard breed of Blackie Lawless, Cronos and Brian Johnson. In fact, I think that the vocals are giving this one an identity, and I find them to be a good part of the sound. The guitar playing is easy going, with simple yet very catchy riffs. And yes, there are some ballad sounding songs, and yes the lyrics are all in the “party all time, girls and alcohol”. So take it as that, as a record to have some fun, while driving a sport car, while the sun shine and you are wearing sunglasses. I must add that me, being the brutal blasphemer maniac high-speed blackened Death Metaller, find this band quite enjoyable, and no, it won’t lower your level of testosterone, manhood or metalheadness, if you enjoy it too. It sounds quite heavy and demented, and on the other hand this might even attract girls. So for once, leave the blood, sword and pentagram behind; try some hairspray and rock hard. Oh, yeah, Hardrockers of all ages will surely worship this one, so tell your pals that like CRASHDIET to look on for this new band. www.myspace.com/metalarmour, www.hellsheadbangers.com
