Well, I’d never thought that I would review a genre mix like that! The French five-piece mix elements of Power, Thrash and Progressive Metal, make use of doublebass attacks like in contemporary Power Metal à la HAMMERFALL, STORMWARRIOR, add keyboards, acoustic guitar play, clean vocals and SOILWORK, IN FLAMES like raw shouting. In my opinion that is a little bit too much at a time and as a fan of more traditional Death, Black and Thrash Metal sounds BLACKOUT managed to simply overtax me. I might be narrow-minded, but stuff like this was not made for my ears, fans of the bands I mentioned above or CHILDREN OF BODOM, DARKANE and the whole modern melodic Metal section might love this one, because BLACKOUT are undoubtedly good musicians but I do not like their music, sorry!
