BLAMES GOD are a primitive Death Metal band from Chile, they’re muddy, cavernous with a don’t care attitude that stems with their unwavering worship of early IMMOLATION and MORBID ANGEL with touches of BRUTAL TRUTH. “Alteration Of The Hallow Remains” consists of 3 new tracks and their 2016 demo titled “In The Flames Of Suffering”. The band presents a grand vision of the long lost art of Death Metal that is a pure pleasure. The guitarist here also plays in ORION, another kickass Death Metal band. The atmosphere broods with angst as the guitars swiftly deliver guttural melodies alongside the vocals. The rhythm is fast and evil, the drumming is perfect. No gimmicks anywhere, track # 3 ‘Church In Ruins’ is a standout, calculated guitars that builds up layers of atmosphere without compromising the brutality. I wish the Swedish scene employed such an approach with the guitars and their bands would be twice as engaging. These riffs albeit straightforward are delivered with precision. The rhythm backs it up and holds the momentum giving the lead a freehand to explore the darkness. I am enjoying this completely! A huge shoutout to Iron, Blood And Death Corporation for putting this together and presenting it. Track # 4 ‘Son’s Spilled Blood’ is their darkest and presents the band at their most ferocious state, this feels like a military tank mercilessly gunning down the opposition with spite. BLAMES GOD keeps getting better track by track and this disc, this is where the tribute to the greats is most visible. BLAMES GOD is versatile with their approach, they easily entwine raw technicality with a maddenning vision. Their 2016 demo is just phenomenal South American analog aggression. I’m hoping this fantastic slab by BLAMES GOD will reach a lot of people as they surely deserve a bigger audience. If you like Death Metal in any shape or form, you have to check this out.
